THE HISTORY OF AMSTERDAM'S MUNICIPAL GREENHOUSE DATES BACK TO 1926.. when the first stone was laid in Frankendael Park in Watergraafsmeer. In 2001, the then owner Gert Jan Hageman decided to repurpose the building - which had been nominated for demolition - and convert it into a restaurant. Soon after, De Kas became one of the first farm.
