The Observer. Retrospective 1910-1975. 6 October 2017 - 15 January 2018. The artist Jeanne Mammen (1890-1976) gained a reputation beyond Berlin as a chronicler of life in the city during the 1920s. Her watercolours and drawings made a distinctive contribution to urban art in that glittering decade with its forceful social contrasts.

November 1890 in Berlin geboren, begann Mammen als Werbegrafiker mit Modeillustrationen für Zeitschriften und Filmplakaten für die UFA-Filmstudios. Jeanne Mammen (Berlin 21.11.1890-22.4.1976 Berlin) war eine deutsche Künstlerin der Klassischen Moderne.
